Our High Support area provides assistance to adults who have a significant intellectual and/ or physical disability and require a high level of support.
Community based activities are important to promote opportunities for growth, independence and experience and individuals are actively encouraged and supported to participate through a variety of personal development , leisure and recreation and individual and community skill enhancement programs.
We are extremely proud of our new facilities which provide a range of interactive equipment and experiences, including media and physio rooms, a sensory room and the Wallara Sensory Garden.
The Wallara Sensory Garden was made possible by the City of Greater Dandenong’s ‘Take a Swing for Charity Golf Day’ and has transformed the outdoor area of Wallara’s High Support Facilities in Dandenong into a state-of-the-art sensory experience for people with severe disabilities.
The garden features a trickling billabong, vegetable and harb gardens, a swing and trampoline, and contrasting textures and materials such as sand, grass, gravel, stones and paving.
Visit WallaraTV to view the making of the garden.
