Life Options is a transitional program for young people leaving school which assists them in the important decision making relating to their life choices.
It is a flexible service offering an innovative alternative to standard day service operations and Tafe study options.
Wallara offers three options to young people:
Option 1: offers a three year program aimed at those wishing to move onto open employment and / or further study and live with minimal support within the community
Option 2: is intended to be a transition program for young people to help them work through what they want their future to look like.
Option 3: An individualized program package based on the goals and aspirations of the young person within the current FFYA guidelines. Wallara will assist the young person to design their own individual program to match their goals and aspirations.
There are four features common in all options and these will:
- Help develop, support and maintain people’s personal networks and help them link in with a range of services.
- Support and encourage young people to develop life skills and maximise their vocational, social and recreational opportunities.
- Help young people find the right mix of activities regardless of the support they may require.
- Provide a pathway to our ready for work program “Working Choices” that will help young people to develop skills to prepare them for job seeking, entering the workforce and maintaining a job.
